Here's what our guests have to say...

My partner and I have stayed at countless AirBNBs since 2012 and this is by far one of the best we've ever stayed at.  This property was fully modernised recently and is truly wonderful.  Literally everything about it is perfection.  We celebrated my 40th birthday here with five friends and we all agreed that it couldn't have been better.  Plenty of room for us all to come together in the evenings for games by the fire, but big enough so that it didn't feel cramped at all.  Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Rowallan is a beautifully styled, perfectly proportioned, very welcoming holiday home. We really felt at home there. My kids wanted to move in! There are lots of little touches around like family photos and artefacts that make it feel like a family home, but they’ve got the balance right so that you don’t feel you’re intruding, and are not worried the kids are about to break some priceless item.  This, among other things, leads me to believe that these guys are very experienced in running a holiday house. Any of the usual self-catering fails you can imagine are more than avoided here: a drawer full of decent chopping knives; a cupboard full of cloths for spills; mattress protectors on the kids bed and a well appointed utility room; all the information you need about the room you’re in exactly where you need it... It’s hard to describe how well they’ve done it. It’s as if they’ve been running this place for forty years and have listened to every last piece of feedback. And if that conjures images of an old worn out place please think again - everything is brand new and spotless, except for the vintage furniture (in almost every room) which just looks brand new, and is also spotless. We were there for Christmas. They had decorated the house with a big tree and millions of fairy lights - it was gorgeous! The weather was cold so we lit all three fires every day and appreciated the central heating first thing in the morning, and the hot water bottles at night. There is nothing these guys haven’t thought of. They even left us a Christmas hamper! I realise this review looks like it’s been written by the owner’s best friend, and she’s gone a bit over the top for it to look believable. However I promise that’s not the case. I’m just genuinely impressed! it really was a home from home.

The tenor in my quartet organised a stay for us in this house and I, having left all the details to her, had no idea what the place looked like or what to expect. When we pulled up I actually asked which half of the building we were staying in. This house is breathtaking and my only regret is that we didn’t book a longer stay.

This property is spacious, immaculate and absolutely stunning. It has four beautiful and very comfortable bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining area,... a utility room with an additional fridge and several lounge spaces. The decor throughout is modern and tasteful but with some beautiful personal touches that keep the history of the property alive. I definitely felt at home here and genuinely didn’t want to leave.

The property’s location boasts fabulous views, complete peace and quiet and a great setting for the perfect getaway while still having local amenities a short walking distance away.

I highly recommend a stay in this house. I know I’ll be back!

I took my barbershop quartet to the village I grew up in for our weekend retreat and stayed in this beautiful home. I can't recommend it enough.  All the rooms are finished to an extremely high standard. The house has been restored lovingly and the attention to detail is amazing.

The personal touches around the home showing the family history are subtle but pay respect to the memories of an important part of the village history. The bagatelle board was a particularly fond childhood memory of mine, of hours spent playing it with Mairi, and the pipes in a display case by the fire pay a respect to John and Uncle Bill that everyone would recognise.

That said, the house also has all the mod cons you would expect and more. The kitchen is a dream to cook in, I could have spent all day there. Full utility room with huge fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.  4 bedrooms with really comfy beds and the best views in the world to wake up to!  The music room as a big hit with 4 musicians too!

We spent most of the day in the garden as the weather was amazing. It, like the house is beautiful and lovely to spend the day in. It is also fully enclosed so Ziggy the chihuahua loved having the run of the garden.  The rest of the quartet loved it too and are planning trips back with various family members.

Highly recommended...we'll be back next year!

Spent a wonderful weekend at the house.  Wow! What a location.  The surrounding views are absolutely stunning!

The house itself is gorgeous: the attention to detail was impressive, and we loved the personal touches throughout. Was great that our little dog was was welcome, too. Will definitely be back!
